The Verdict

The verdict... as we all knew, Tom Robinson was found guilty. But the unusual part about it is that It took the jury almost over 2 hours to reach a verdict. I think the verdict was very predictable just because Tom was black. Which is unfair to him. He cant help the color of his skin is black. Its just not fair! He had a great chance in winning the trial but they had to be unfair and find him guilty.

My reaction when they said he was guilty was, why? Atticus proved a lot of things in the trial. Tom couldn't have done it because he is right handed and is not able to use his left hand. They just found him guilty because he was black. That's all. Maycomb will not change at all. It will just be like another colored man found guilty. The black community might change a lot. They all know that Tom was innocent. Even some of the white people thought he was innocent. Our family wont be the same. Jem thinks its not fair at all. Atticus says that there is nothing he can do but ask for an appeal. The trial was a good one that our family will never forget.
